Allianz Life promotes Matt Gray to senior vice president of product innovation

Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America has promoted Matt Gray to senior vice president, product innovation in the marketing division.

In this role, he is responsible for all product portfolio management and new product development for the fixed annuity, variable annuity, and life insurance lines of business. Gray reports to Chief Marketing Officer Nancy Jones.

“Matt has and continues to play a key role in ensuring Allianz Life has the most innovative and competitive products in the market,” said Jones. “He brings a customer-centric approach to his work that is directly reflected in the benefits we offer to fulfill the needs of today's consumers.”

Gray began his career with Allianz Life as an intern in the Actuarial division in 1999. He has since held multiple roles in Actuarial and Marketing, most recently as vice president of Product Innovation.

Under his leadership, Gray was responsible for executing the development of various fixed index and variable annuity products including the company’s first index variable annuity, the Allianz Index Advantage Variable Annuity.

Gray earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). Gray holds a FINRA Series 7 securities registration.
